  1. Ficcion will crush the competition by the name of GOD!!!
Objectively there has not been any album in this decade like “On the wrath of God” the sound quality is just excellent only comparable to the big commercial production
And the composition are just as epic has its sound… !!!

  2. I never heard such a band called Ficción!! and leading the poll. it’s really fishy to me.
Steven Wilson, Camel, Nemrud, Steve Hackett, Spock’s Beard…these are the real proggers, Who the fuck is Ficcion?!?

  3. This is a complete fraud. One of the members of Ficcion has been making false claims about this poll and asking his friends and relatives to vote several times a day for the past week. He even posted a fake email from the Progressive Rock Central staff on his Facebook account claiming that the website “will be sending to the winners a commemorative plaque for their achievement” and that “the winner will be featured on various prog-rock magazines across USA and Europe”. These claims are, of course, absolutely ridiculous.

  4. Ficción is one of the most famous progressive rock bands from Venezuela (you can check out some of their videos on Youtube). As to why they have so many votes so far, it’s hard to know, possibly because they have a very strong fan base.

  5. To Sam,

Read your comment, you might not know who Ficcion is but many other people do and they are voting daily in accordance to the rules of the poll. As of why there are lesser votes for the other bands I do not have an answer, but a the end of the day it is what it is my friend!

  6. I was listening to some songs of the album “FICCION On the wrath of God” I don’t know how this band is even nominated because that album sound like hot garbage.
    It shouldn’t be wining…

  7. this poll is total bullshit…who the hell is ficcion anyway??
    Steven Wilson vs Ficcion
    result is funny :)))))

  8. POR FAVOR, A LA GENTE DE FICCIÓN DEJEN DE ESTAR MANDANDO A DIARIO A LOS 30 PENDEJOS A VOTAR MASIVAMENTE POR USTEDES MISMOS. HAY UN PROBLEMA GRABE CUANDO EL QUE NUNCA HIZO NADA EN LA VIDA LLEGA A VIEJO CREYENDOSE LO QUE NO ES, TIPICO DE UN VENEZOLANO, POR ESO TUVIMOS UN PRESIDENTE “FAMOSO” POR BOCÓN Y HACER NADA. HAGANSE UN FAVOR, RETIRENSE, YA ESTAN VIEJOS PARA HACER EL RIDICULO

  9. FICCION ES UNN BANDA VIEJA QUE NUNCA HIZO UN COÑO EN VENEZUELA, SUS INTEGRANTES SON MUSICOS X NADA RELEVANTES, SOLO USTEDES MISMOS SE VAN A CREER QUE ESTAN POR ENCIMA CON ESE DISCO MALOSO SIN BUEN SONIDO POR CIERTO, POR ENCIMA DE YES, O STEVE HACKETT O STEVEN WILSON. LOS DISCOS MIDEN SU EXITO EN VENTAS NO CON VOTOS FANTASMAS EN INTERNET. BAJATE DE LA NUBE VIEJO, PARECEN UNOS CARAJITOS. DALE HONRA A TU PROYECTO, NO HAGAS EL RIDICULO CREYENDOTE LO QUE NO ES

  10. Funny enough, Ficcion are not even a famous band in their home country. They’re winning because the band members have asked their friends and relatives to vote several times a day.

  11. This is absolutely ridiculous! 6600 votes for a band that pretty much nobody has heard about? I voted yesterday for Steven Wilson and Ficcion had under 5500 votes; how is it possible that they got a 1000+ bump in 24 hours? And what’s up with those absolutely delusional comments about them “crushing the competition in the name of God”? I don’t really get it. This stinks of cheap self promotion of the worst kind, and it’s sad that this website is enabling them. Have any of you guys actually listened to their album? Please do yourselves a favour and check it out; it’s truly horrendous.

  12. Hey “Justice”,

They must have A LOT OF FRIENDS Bud!! Do the math! I remind you that they can vote once a day only! Capito?

Suck up to it and move on!!

  13. Are we complaining that Ficcion posted on Facebook, are we saying that none of the other bands have done this? Does it really matter?

I think that the reality is that they mobilized their fan base faster and more efficiently than everyone else. Plus the internet is global and it would seem that they have a lot of fans internationally.

I’ve listened to Ficcion, everyone has their preferences on what they like and don’t like. On Ficcion’s current album there are some really neat musical progressions, and technically very good. The fact they made the list in the first place speaks to that fact.

As to make a comparison form one band to another is just ridiculous, it is a fan poll for this site. I would expect that members of Ficcion would even think that they wouldn’t beat out Steve Hackett on a billboard chart.

  14. people can only vote once a day through the same IP address but anyone with a VPN or a proxy service can switch their IP many times, meaning that there are many ways in which they could’ve achieve such a high number of votes… these results are a joke and those dudes from ficcion seem to be really dodgy people… also the fact that they opened for a band in their home country doesnt mean anything… for a band getting so many votes I would expect them to be the ones headlining

  16. I has been interesting to see all these comments regarding Ficcion’s lead in this poll.

I checked Steve Hackett’s page in Facebook and he has about 90,000 followers, I am sure that Steve Wilson has about the same.

It is obvious to me that those fans do not care about this poll, they could crush Ficcion’s 8,000 votes easely, however Ficcion does care, that’s why they are winning, so why blame them for trying to motivate people to vote for them? I read the rules of the contest, and as far I am concerned they haven’t violated any of the rules. It is unfair to call them cheaters.

Regarding the music, I liked it, and I bought their album to show support, it’s not bad music.

In conclusion, I think that the majority of the negative comments I read are more motivated by more obscure reasons rather than legit ones.

This is your poll Ficcion, go for it! Keep raking votes and win!!

  18. this is totally fraud!!! who are you kidding guys??
anyway my vote goes to Turkish band Nemrud.

    for ficcion fans: congrats :))

  19. I think their whole country must be voting for Ficcion! Never heard of them! To be that far ahead of Steve Hackett is ridiculous! Better re-look the voting on Ficcion. Something is very, very, very wrong!!!!

  20. Really fishy the Fioccion issue.

I work in PropgArchives, we have the albums in advance, and has only ratings without reviews with a 3.25 average.

Fright Pig has 126 ratings (in a couple of months) and a 4.15 average with 5 and 4 star reviews by Collaborators

Laquesis was added today (Dec 231) and will have more reviews tomorrow.

Ficción is good, but not outstanding

  21. This poll should be impugned, removed and closed, as has been clearly manipulated by the use of script-bots, probably using ip-masking for multivoting. This is not fair, and Ficcion are claiming it was by their own followers (358 on Facebook, what a huge amount!) instead of recognizing the poll has been harassed. That’s sad, very sad, and implies a really bad attitude from Ficcion themselves. They should be really ashamed.

Prog is ART ROCK, and fraud, manipulation and lies doesn’t fit into art.
