The Handbook of the Acid Rider presents the latest musical works of Chilean chapman stick virtuoso Francisco Rafart, better known artistically as Rafart. The album presents a collection of instrumental pieces where Rafart shows his talent, crossing over into various musical territories such as progressive rock, jazz-rock, contemporary instrumental and electronica.
Rafart’s output stands out when he ventures into electronica, combining the regular jazz-rock combo sound with electronic beats and effects, creating an exciting trip hop foundation topped by the serpentine stick lines. Highlights include ‘Drum N’ Space’; the exquisite solo pieces ‘Blauen’, ‘Mozzarella’ and ‘Escombrock’; the skilled fusion of Chironex Fleckeri; the forward thinking composition titled ‘Masacre’ that includes mesmerizing spoken word and electronics; and the great ‘Sake & Mote’ with its instant appeal, mixing fine progressive rock and fusion.
