Venezuelan Act Backhand to Perform at ProgDay 2014

Venezuelan progressive rock band Backhand is set to perform at ProgDay 2014. The group features four leading Venezuelan musicians, Adrianus Van Woerkom (keyboards), Pablo Mendoza (guitars), Oscar Fanega (bass), and Adolfo Herrera (drums), along with Emmy Award winning Canadian singer Phil Naro.

Backhand released its new album Through The Turbulence earlier this year. The recording features Phil Naro, who is well known for his work in Talas, Druckfarben, and. Ddrive) on lead vocals. This will be Backhand’s first concert in the US.

Backhand will join Alex Carpani Band (Italy),Sensations’ Fix (Italy), Necromonkey (Sweden), The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra (USA), Luz De Riada (Mexico) and Kotebel (Spain) at ProgDay 2014. The festival will take place on Saturday, August 30th, and Sunday, August 31st, at Storybook Farm in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
