Progressive Nation 2014 Cruise Announced

German label InsideOut Music has joined forces with Mike Portnoy, Derek Sherinian & Sixthman to put together the Progressive Nation cruise scheduled for February 2014. This new ocean adventure will present a mix of progressive rock and heavy metal (described as progressive metal).

The inaugural voyage runs February 18th – 22nd 2014 on the Norwegian Pearl. The ship will travel from Miami to Great Stirrup Cay and Freeport, Bahamas. It will be 4 days in the Caribbean with all the amenities of a cruise ship. Music performances will run from morning until night with over 40 shows on multiple stages. There will also be Q&A’s, panels and workshops.

The lineup includes progressive rock acts Transatlantic, Jon Anderson, Spock’s Beard, and The Flower Kings. The rest of the programming is a series of heavy metal and hard rock acts: Portnoy Sheehan Macalpine Sherinian, King’s X , Pain Of Salvation, Riverside, Tony Harnell & Bumblefoot, Bigelf, Beardfish, The Dear Hunter, Jolly And Next To None.
