The Tangent, the edgy progressive rock group led by Andy Tillison, has a new animated music video available with an excerpt of the track “The Adulthood Lie.” The piece appears on The Tangent’s new album ‘Proxy,’ scheduled for release on November 16th, 2018.
Andy Tillison provide details: “‘The Adulthood Lie’ is a song from the new album “Proxy” by The Tangent. It comes in two flavours… one (the album version) which is a sixteen minute long Prog Rock Epic made out of anything but Prog Rock sounds… and the “single” version which is released today. The ‘single’ gives no real indication of what actually happens on the album version, but takes the form of a dancey Ibiza style pop song. These two versions work together well as a demonstration of what Progressive Rock still can be. Hear the single (with its cult game-like lyric video), and then hear the album to find out where it goes next!”
French electronic music artist and producer Rone (Erwan Castex) has released a new music video titled Mirapolis. The video was envisioned by his sister, illustrator Aurélie Castex.
The concept is: in infinite space, a tiny woman pilots a paper plane. On the Mirapolis planet, among a crowd of extravagant characters, a man swallows it by accident. He finds himself instantly tiny on his turn. Then he goes through a crazy race. He will cross giant shoes, dive into the seabed of a tin can, climbs on a planet that smokes a pipe… until a big party in which a merry and motley crowd dances on the shoulders of a giant: Rone.
“Mirapolis” is one of the last solo tracks that Rone composed in the spring of 2017, while thinking about the live performance: “I wanted to record a festive track, which completely stands by its “funfair” vibe.”
This new video is combined with the release of a new four-track EP including 3 exclusive remixes by Laurent Garnier, Johannes Brecht and Matias Aguayo on October 5th.
Regular illustrator for Elle France magazine and Le Parisien Magazine, Aurélie Castex has also contributed to issues of Vogue Japan, Velvet Italia, Common & Sense, Flaunt and GQ. After graduating from l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, she worked a year for Givenchy parfums before starting her professional free-lance activity in collaboration with her friend Claire Laude under the name Mesdemoiselles. They created many visual identities using drawing and illustration with chic and squeaky humor.
Now Aurélie is working in her own Parisian studio. She likes to draw funny pictures, to tell stories and to imagine animated movies for famous institutions and brands such as Paul & Joe, the Grand Palais, A La Mère de Famille, Hôtel Particulier Montmartre, Château Troplong-Mondot St Emilion Grand Cru or Chaumet.

The features a guest appearance from Kim Seviour.
“In Floral Green is a song very dear to my heart,” says John Mitchell. “In addition to losing sight of the warmth of human connection we feel in the cold remoteness and social disconnect of the modern world, we as a species probably need to be around a lot less drab grey and a lot more rustic green. Many thanks to the little dark haired kid in the chorus for his tireless commitment to big 70s hair and throwing a ball around for our amusement.”

Acclaimed progressive rock musician Tim Bowness has released a music video with ‘You Wanted to Be Seen,’ the first track from his upcoming album, titled ‘Lost In The Ghost Light‘.
“You Wanted to Be Seen is about someone at their most weary and emotionally withdrawn,” says Tim Bowness. “It’s very much a self-reflective ‘dark night of the soul’ lyric.
Musically, it’s something of an extreme split between the reflective melancholy of the verses and the apocalyptic anger of the latter part of the song, which features some intense dueling guitar and violin parts from Bruce Soord and No-Man’s Steve Bingham.”
