“Live In Győr” is a remarkable two CD set that highlights the ongoing collaboration between Djabe (one of Hungary’s finest jazz groups) and former Genesis guitarist and renowned solo artist Steve Hackett.
Djabe and Steve Hackett perform Djabe material as well as classic progressive rock-era Genesis material such as ‘Hairless Heart’, ‘Firth of Fifth’, ‘In That Quiet Earth’ and ‘Los Endos.’ Furthermore, the set also includes Steve Hackett’s compositions ‘The Steppes’, ‘Ace of Wands’ and ‘Last Train to Istanbul.’
The result is a deeply gratifying collection of pieces where contemporary jazz meets progressive rock harmoniously. You’ll find wonderful and unexpected rearrangements of familiar songs along with memorable trumpet, keyboard, fretless bass and, of course, guitar work. This synergy results in exquisitely crafted performances that highlight the technical prowess and artistry of the musicians involved.
