For this year’s NEARfest Apocalypse progressive rock festival, organizers will be providing late-night entertainment at the Comfort Suites. NEARfest Apocalypse will take place June 22-24, 2012 at Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
On Friday night, Pinnacle is the band chosen to perform. Pinnacle includes members from both Pennsylvania and New Jersey (including NEARfest guitar tech Karl Eisenhart and Coffee Wizard Greg Jones). They play a fresh combination of old school progressive rock sensibilities and a modern edge. The band has recently added a full-time vocalist/keyboardist. Their new album is titled “A Blueprint for Chaos” and the band’s performance will also be the CD Release Party for the album.
On Saturday night, The Yellow Box will take the stage in the ballroom. The trio from the New York City area has roots that began with a magazine ad nearly decade ago. Bassist Chris Merlo and keyboardist/vocalist Charlie Labs were later inspired to challenge themselves after attending an early edition of NEARfest and witnessing all the virtuosity on the stage. In 2006, they joined forces with drummer Rich Moscatelli and The Yellow Box was complete. The band will present themselves and their unique brand of keyboard-driven progressive rock to the progressive rock community with their performance on Saturday night.
For all three nights, Tom Gagliardi will be broadcasting live from the Comfort Suites. His Gagliarchives radio program has been on the airwaves for over 20 years. Broadcast on 88.9FM WBZC and on the internet via Aural Moon, the Gagliarchives has been a huge supporter of NEARfest from its very beginning.
All After-Party activities are free and will be held in the ballroom at the Comfort Suites on 4th Street in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
