Legendary British progressive band Strawbs will return to Montreal for a unique acoustic concert on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Gesu (1200 de Bleury). The Strawbs’ acoustic formation is composed of 3 original members: Dave Cousins on guitars and vocals, Dave Lambert on guitars and vocals, and Chas Cronk on bass.
Celebrating over 40 years of progressive folk rock, the Strawbs will showcase intimate and unplugged versions of songs from throughout their memorable career including from such classic albums as Grave New World, Bursting at the Seams, Hero and Heroine, and Ghosts.
Special guest Andre Duchesne, legendary co-founder of Quebec’s acoustic chamber music ensemble Conventum in the ‘70s and pioneer of the “new music” scene in the ‘80s, will open with a rare live appearance. He will be accompanied by renowned guitarist Bernard Falaise and violinist Jean-René Faudra, and will play compositions from Conventum through to today.
