Esoteric Recordings in the UK announced the release of the classic 1997 progressive rock album Black Noise by Canadian band FM. This new remastered edition contains fully restored artwork and a new essay.
FM was formed in 1976 with Cameron Hawkins on synthesizers, bass, and vocals; and Nash The Slash (Jeff Plewman) on electric violin, mandolin, and vocals. They made an appearance on national TV in Canada in the Summer of 1976. The following year, the group became a trio with the addition of Martin Deller on drums.
The Canadian Broadcasting Company offered to release the band’s debut album, Black Noise on their own label later that year, but the album was only made available via mail order. The following year Black Noise was released on the VISA label in the United States.
