Progressive rock band U.K. is scheduled to perform on Saturday April 27, 2013 at intimate 400-seat Gesù amphitheater in Montreal. UK 2013 features founders Eddie Jobson and John Wetton along with Alex Machacek and Virgil Donati. This concert replaces Eddie Jobson’s “Four Decades World Tour” concert scheduled for the same night.
Tickets already purchased for the Jobson show will be valid for UK 2013. Following last year’s sold-out “Night After Night 2012” show at the Gesu, UK’s founders willeturn to Montreal with keyboard and violin maestro Eddie Jobson (Roxy Music, Frank Zappa and Curved Air), renowned bassist and vocalist John Wetton (King Crimson), Austrian guitar prodigy Alex Machacek (UKZ) and drum virtuoso Virgil Donati (Planet X).
Formed in England in 1977, the band UK took the progressive rock scene by storm with two of the most highly regarded studio albums: the self-titled UK (1977) and Danger Money (1978), followed by their farewell live record Night After Night (1979). UK 2013 will emphasize the group’s first album, as well as the music of King Crimson, in what may be UK’s last ever tour.
