Legendary rock band The Moody Blues has announced its second fan cruise experience, departing from Miami, Florida on April 2, 2014 for five days and nights, visiting tropical ports including Grand Turk Island, Turks & Caicos and Nassau, Bahamas.
The cruise titled Return to the Isle of Wight is themed around the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival, which is considered to be one of the greatest classic rock festivals in history, and also featured an unforgettable performance by The Moody Blues. The festival took place over three days in this picturesque English isle, drawing over 700,000 fans, far surpassing the attendance of Woodstock.
Several artists from the festival will be joining Justin, John & Graeme, recreating memories from 44 years ago in a celebration of one of rock’s most unforgettable events. The event will take place aboard the cruise ship, MSC Divina, on an unprecedented 5-night cruise journey.
The current guest artist list includes Isle of Wight Festival performers Carl Palmer from Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Lighthouse, as well as other past Isle of Wight Festival performers to be announced in the next few weeks. In addition, the event will feature rock classics such as The Zombies, Strawbs, Joe Williams of TOTO, progressive rock band Glass Hammer, Sound of Contact featuring Simon Collins, Jimi Hendrix Tribute featuring Randy Hansen, the Prog Rock Orchestra, Eagles Tribute featuring Danny Vaughn, Heavy Mellow and Mellow Yellow.
Fans will have access to private concerts, Q & A sessions, Karaoke Bar, special events & activities plus musical guests that influenced the music of the 1970s and beyond. This is not just a “concert cruise”. It is a fan experience celebrating the years of incredible music since The Moody Blues’ legendary set at Isle of Wight Festival.
