The final piece of the three-album collaboration from David Helpling and Jon Jenkins is titled Found (Spotted Peccary Music). The album follows the path set by the duo’s previous genre-defying releases, Treasure and The Crossing. The duo blends cinematic electronics with rock and space music sensibilities.
Found features thundering drums and percussion, electric guitars, intimate pianos and rich synthesizer textures. The album culminates in title track, featuring wordless vocal by virtuoso Miriam Stockley. “This is a record that’s meant to be listened to from start to finish in order to appreciate the full experience,” says Jenkins, “but the album also plays a crucial role in the bigger picture, because it completes the trilogy, and we really wanted this to be a fitting close to the emotional arc that unfolds across all three albums.”
Helpling describes the duo’s approach for this final volume in the series: “Since this record is the conclusion to a trilogy, we felt a major responsibility to make something bigger and deeper, both musically and emotionally. I think all of that drive within us even went into technical things like the recording and mixing.”
