Mike Pinder
Moody Blues keyboardist Mike Pinder is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of the mellotron, the keyboard instrument that is beloved by thousands of progressive rock fans worldwide. Pinder recorded a solo album in 1976 titled The Promise.
The solo effort features folk-rock songs with Pinder on vocals. The highlights in The Promise include ‘I Want to Love You’ which has a swinging jazz vibe and outstanding flute work by Joel Dibartello; another flute-led piece, the instrumental ‘Air’ with Dean OPlch on flute and Pinder on 12-string guitar.
Among the Stars came out in 1994. It’s a collection of soft rock and pop songs.
The collection also includes a DVD with an interview and other extras. It’s nicely packaged in a hard cover box with three discs, an extensive booklet and two small postcards.
