Pasajero Luminoso
Pasajero Luminoso (2014)
Pasajero Luminoso is the debut album by a new Argentine fusion band called Pasajero Luminoso. The group combines a tasty mix of jazz fusion with progressive rock and Argentine folk traditions such as tango, chacarera, zamba and Afro-Uruguayan candombe. The main instruments are the electric piano and guitar.
The finest cuts on the album are the spirited pieces where the band explores its South American roots, such as ‘Despertango’, ‘Chacareropa (el amague)’, and ‘Ekeko’.
Other high points include ‘Confuso como un héroe’ which has a progressive rock flavor with great organ and guitar interaction and drum solo; and the final piece ‘Paso de elefante’ that brilliantly mixes blues and jazz-rock.
The lineup incloude Juan Pablo Moyano on guitar, Leopoldo “Pepo” Limeres on keyboards, Pablo Valotta on bass, and Fabian Miodownik on drums and percussion.
Pasajero Luminoso continues the proud tradition of Argentine fusion with some stellar individual playing and a distinct South American flavor.
