Arcabuz
Orígenes (Arcabuz, 2014)
Orígenes is an instrumental recoding by Arcabuz, a progressive rock band from Santa Coloma de Gramanet in Spain. They have a vintage sound that takes you back to the golden age of folk-rooted Spanish progressive rock from the 1970s.
Although Arcabuz was formed in 1978, it’s taken them over 30 years to make an album. You’ll hear echoes Andalusian flamenco-rock bands like Iman Califato Independiente and Triana, Celtic music and Camel.
The lineup includes Julio Francisco Álvaro on keyboards; José Luis López on bass;
Carlos López on electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin and Irish bouzouki; and Aurelio Ortega on drums.
While many other Spanish rock acts are desperately trying to sound British or American, Arcabuz brings back that fresh and unique progressive rock Spanish flavor.
