Legendary Italian progressive rock band Osanna has a new double album titled Palepolitana. The set includes one disc with 12 new pieces by Lino Vairetti and Pino Chillemi. The other disc features a re-recording of the entire “Palepoli” album.
The title “Palepolitana” is a word that merges the terms Palepoli (the historic city of Naples) and Metro (the Naples subway, famous throughout the world for its extraordinary “stations of contemporary art”).
The new Osanna line-up includes Lino Vairetti on vocals, acoustic and 12-string guitars and harmonica; Gennaro Barba on drums; Pako Capobianco on electric, acoustic and 12-string guitars; Nello D’Anna on bass; Sasa Prior on piano, Fender Rhodes, organ and synthesizers; Irvin Vairetti on vocals, mellotron and synthesizers.
Special guests include David Jackson on sax and flutes; Sophya Baccini on vocals; Gianluca Falasca on violin; the Falasca String Quarte; and Angelo Salvatore on flute.
