Klava – Polku (Eclipse Music, 2019)

Klava is a charming Finnish progressive music band from Helsinki that combines progressive rock with Canterbury leanings, jazz, folk-rock and psychedelia.

The group has a neohippy flavor and is characterized by psychedelic guitars, Canterbury-style keyboards and tasty violin, jazz horns, and a captivating mix of male and female vocals.

The band is led by versatile multi-instrumentalist and composer Kalle Kuisma. He is involved in other projects such as progressive rock band Relayer and experimental ambient act Kuupulu.

The lineup includes  Kalle Kuisma on guitars, vocals, synthesizer, vibraphone, organ and percussion;  Henri Tuomi on drums,  vocals and sitar; Joonas Hietala on bass, vocals, piano and gong; Sini Palokangas on soprano and alto saxophones, vocals, marimba, tambourine, flute and vibraphones; Ringa Koskinen on vocals, jaw harp, maracas; Jussi Hurskainen on alto and baritone saxophone; and Jarno Koivunen on violin.

Guests: Heikki Puska on harp; Aya Koivunen on violin; Ayhan Akgez on flute; Janina Lehto on flute;  Susanna Salama on alto saxophone; and Tomi Lassi on cello.
