Ellesmere, a progressive symphonic rock project led by Italian multi-instrumentalist Roberto Vitelli, has a new album titled “Wyrd.” The band’s sound is a combination of epic symphonic rock and jazz-rock influenced by the classics as well as more recent acts like Transatlantic, Flower Kings and Spock’s Beard.
“Wyrd” features various high profile guests from the international progressive rock scene, including Mattias Olsson (Änglagård, White Willow) on drums; Tomas Bodin (The Flower Kings) on keyboards; David Cross (King Crimson) on violin; John Hackett (Steve Hackett’s band) on flute; David Jackson (Van Der Graaf Generator, Osanna) on saxophone; Tony Pagliuca (Le Orme) on keyboards; Luciano Regoli (Raccomandata Ricevuta Ritorno) on vocals; Fabio Liberatori (Loy & Altomare, Lucio Dalla, Ron) on keyboards; Fabio Bonuglia on keyboards; and Giorgio Pizzala on vocals.
Previous recordings include “Les Châteaux De La Loire” (2015) and “Ellesmere II.”
