The Aristocrats – With Primuz Chamber Orchestra (2022)
The Aristocrats have released one of its most fascinating albums to date. Indeed, the three virtuoso rock and fusion musicians recorded their new album with Poland’s Primuz Chamber Orchestra.
The album, titled The Aristocrats With Primuz Chamber Orchestra, includes impeccable and sultry new versions of some of the best compositions from The Aristocrats’ catalog.
Although The Aristocrats have made superb albums as a trio, the addition of an orchestra adds a new level of creativity and a rich tapestry of sounds.
“This project began when we randomly stumbled upon a YouTube video of Poland’s Primuz Chamber Orchestra performing one of our songs, as reimagined by composer/arranger Wojtek Lemański,” the band says in a joint statement. “Their flawless execution of a highly challenging arrangement (which was startlingly inventive and yet remained entirely faithful to the spirit of the original composition!) inspired us to reach out and propose a collaboration.”
The end result is a fantastic combination of progressive rock, instrumental power rock, jazz-rock fusion, blues, and Spanish music influences interweaved with finely crafted orchestral arrangements. In conclusion, a true masterpiece.
The Aristocrats: Guthrie Govan on guitar; Bryan Beller on bass; and Marco Minnemann on drums.
Primuz Chamber Orchestra: Wojtek Lemański on string arrangements and Łukasz Błaszczyk, orchestra director.
