Swedish progressive rock band Dice was active during the late 1970s. Their combination of musical instruments and vocal harmonies was compared to Yes, Gentle Giant and Focus.
Officially, Dice only released their self-titled debut album. After the group disbanded, additional recordings surfaced and were released. One of them was “The Four Riders of the Apocalypse,” a four part symphonic rock concerto made in 1977, before Dice added vocals and harmonies. The four movements were “War,” “Disease,” “Greed,” and “Death.”
A selection of live tapes was released in 1993 as Live Dice. The album included live versions of two compositions from “Four Riders”, tracks from the debut album, as well as unreleased material and demos.
Band members included Per Andersson on drums, percussion; Leif Larsson on keyboards, Mellotron; Örjan Strandberg on guitars; and Fredrik Vildö on bass, acoustic guitar.
