Ambient electronic music artist Tomo-Nakaguchi is set to drop “The Long Night in Winter Light,” an album that started in autumn 2021 right after wrapping up “Tayutau.” Unlike its forerunner, which boasted a dizzying array of sounds sourced from various materials, this new project opts for a more subdued approach, emphasizing strings and piano over experimental effects. The outcome is a stunning, grand, and severe soundscape that mirrors the beauty and harshness of a snow-covered field.
Hailing from Yokohama, Japan, Tomo-Nakaguchi is a musician and sound artist, part of the experimental rock troupe “1769” and multimedia collective “skyward photo film.” His style layers acoustic and electric guitar, samplers, tape machines, field recordings, and other instruments to create a dreamy, warm texture.
