On May 5th, Spirit of Unicorn Music will release the long-awaited second album from the five-piece, award-winning, progressive rock band Cairo. The new recording, titled “Nemesis” was produced by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios.“Nemesis” addresses current global concerns and showcases the band’s impressive, boundary-pushing style, featuring sharp, angular riffs, infectious pop rock hooks, and electronic soundscapes that seamlessly complement potent and impassioned vocals.
This intentionally diverse new album sees the band explore their familiar sound with dynamic and emotionally charged epics. Additionally, they venture into more melodious rock territory with “The Love” and “Glow,” as well as the upbeat and electrifying “Jumping On The Moon.”
The artwork for the album is by Paul Tippett (known for his work with It Bites, Frost, Kino, Twelfth Night, Pendragon, Europe, Inglorious, and Uriah Heep), with additional artistic consultation from Andrew Wildman (noted for his work with Marvel Comics, Transformers, X-Men, and storyboarding for Doctor Who, Luther, and Poldark).
Furthermore, the album includes a brief orchestral instrumental piece called “Save The Earth,” paying homage to the late, great Vangelis, which acts as a prelude to the title track.
