Eat Static appeared in 1989. The band was led by Merv Pepler (Ozric Tentacles), Joie Hinton (Ozric Tentacles) and Steve Everitt. Their transfixing sonic explorations reverberated across continents, as they embarked on extensive tours throughout the United Kingdom and Europe. Their tours also took them to distant shores, captivating audiences in the United States and Japan. Festivals and raves became their regular stages, where the collective consciousness of the crowd merged with the pulsating rhythms of their high-tempo electronic music.
