Norwegian rock singer, Einar Solberg, famed as the frontman of Leprous, recently released his debut solo album 16, which hit the airwaves in June. This album, rooted in Einar’s well-established musical realm, exudes an array of surprises, making it wildly diverse. A delightful concoction of intimacy and extravagance is brought forth through his collaborative efforts with various talented artists. Solberg has released a series of video, including “Over the Top.”
Known for the heartfelt honesty embedded in his lyrics and the eccentricity of Leprous’ music, Einar Solberg has once again elevated his craft with ’16.’ Emotion runs high in this dynamic work, and Einar himself refers to it as “the closest I’ve ever come to writing a concept album.” The songs deeply reflect a pivotal and transformative phase in the musician’s life, capturing the essence of a restless spirit in its absolute element.
In ’16,’ Einar joins forces with an impressive lineup of collaborators, spanning from progressive rock virtuosos like Ben Levin of Bent Knee and Toti Gudnason of metal band Agent Fresco, to the experimental cello maestro Raphael Weinroth-Browne (a regular live musician with Leprous) and Magnus Børmark, renowned for his role in the Norwegian alt-folk ensemble, Gåte.
