Pulsonica – Eco Infinito (Viajero Inmóvil Records, 2023)
Eco infinito is the new album by Pulsonica, an engaging instrumental progressive rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Notably, Pulsonica elegantly interweaves the inventive magic of progressive rock with skilled jazz-rock, funk and irresistible Afro Latin beats, highlighting the role of drums and percussion. In addition to the robust rhythm section, Pulsonica also delivers notable electric guitar work and creative bass lines. Interestingly, one of the pieces selected is the famous Tito Puente cha-cha-chá classic “Oye Como Va” that Santana popularized in 1970.
Jorge Adrián González, an Argentine drummer and percussionist, founded Pulsonica in 2007. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jorge González has an impressive musical background. He’s been a part of various projects like Pulsonica and Orquesta Amarilla Percussion Ensemble, collaborating with artists such as Celeste Carballo, Moris, and Ba Mamour from Senegal. He’s also authored two drum methods, “Desde La Base” and “Herramientas Útiles Para Improvisar,” published by Ellisound Editions.
His musical career includes graduating from the National School of Arts, studying at Vinci Musical Institute, and taking private lessons with accomplished professors like Rolando Picardi, Daniel Mele, and Osvaldo Brandán. Jorge has composed music for movies and theater plays, and he’s a regular contributor to percussion newsletters.
