Esquizoide – Crónicas (2024)
Esquizoide is a rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Even though they originally kicked off their musical career with hard rock vibes, they’ve now evolved into an eclectic progressive rock ensemble.
The album, Crónicas, contains a mix of genres, but its true gems lie in its progressive rock works. The standout track, “Declaración y viaje a lo onírico,” treats us to mesmerizing keyboard and guitar work. Then there’s the symphonic rock suite, “Epifanía,” featuring exquisite violin and flute performances that build up to an epic finale. Lastly, the brief yet poignant “Terapia III” focuses on vocal and piano.
However, it’s worth noting that Esquizoide hasn’t entirely embraced their progressive rock transformation. A significant portion of the album still leans heavily into their hard rock roots, which might not resonate with everyone, especially those who favor their new progressive style.
The band lineup is as follows: Diego Güezo on vocals and guitar 2; Federico Guitin on guitar 1; Carlos Martínek on bass; Emanuel Villalba on keyboards and piano; and Federico Briossio on drums.
They also feature an array of guest artists: Andrés Vedier from Ann Gramma plays the saxophone; Albano Calace enchants with the flute; Sofía Naccarato brings her violin talent; Sergio Pagano enriches the album with the cello; and Maximiliano Peralta rounds it out with his double bass skills.
