British singer, songwriter, and producer Tim Bowness has released his new single “Lost/Not Lost” today. The track is taken from his upcoming album Powder Dry, set for release on September 13th through Kscope. Bowness describes “Lost/Not Lost” as the most direct song on the album, a straightforward electro-pop track with an optimistic message of escape and abandon. He contrasts its upbeat tone with the darker themes found elsewhere on Powder Dry.
The single, mixed by Bowness’s long-time collaborator, progressive rock musician Steven Wilson, is accompanied by a dynamic new video created by Blacktide Productions.
Powder Dry, Bowness’s eighth studio album, marks a fresh chapter in his career. The 40-minute album features 16 tracks that mix industrial rock, electro-pop, and singer-songwriter elements with more experimental sounds. This is Bowness’s first album entirely self-produced, written, and performed. It was mixed in stereo and surround sound by Wilson, who also provided feedback during the process.
“This is the best and most creative of all of Tim’s albums.” – Steven Wilson
