Prolific German synthesist Volker Lankow has released a new album of ambient electronic music titled The Hanau Sleep Concert. On September 14, 2024, Volker Lankow performed a sleep concert for the first time. This event took place in Hanau, a small city in South West Germany. The audience came there to relax and also to fall asleep or enter a hypnagogic state.
Lankow says: “I had the good feeling that during this 4-hour improvisation of ambient and drone sounds, I was able to give something positive to those who listened and were also able to experience hypnogogia. Myself, had the feeling that I was able to concentrate fully on the music without any distractions and achieve a sense of calm myself.“
