Progressive rock pioneers Nektar have released a lyric video for their song “I’ll Let You In,” featured on their latest album, Mission to Mars. Known for their imaginative storytelling and intricate compositions, the band continues to captivate fans with a blend of thought-provoking lyrics and adventurous soundscapes.
Formed in Germany in 1969, Nektar rose to prominence in the 1970s as a leading force in the progressive rock movement. Their early albums, including A Tab in the Ocean (1972) and Remember the Future (1973), found significant success in the United States, with the latter reaching the Top 40. Over the years, Nektar has released nearly 20 albums, maintaining their signature fusion of cosmic themes and jam-band influences. Their 2020 album, The Other Side, even topped Amazon’s Progressive Music chart.
Mission to Mars, the band’s latest offering, marks the beginning of a new trilogy and introduces drummer Jay Dittamo to the lineup. Joining him are longstanding members Ryche Chlanda (guitar, vocals), Kendall Scott (keyboards, synths), Maryann Castello (vocals), and founding bassist and vocalist Derek “Mo” Moore. The album combines Nektar’s classic progressive rock style.
Mo and Ryche state: “This song came to us very quickly and organically. It captures ‘that’ moment when you decide to share with someone your true self. How having the courage to be vulnerable can lead to deeper relationships and bring you closer to your higher power.”
