Ginetta’s Vendetta – Fun Size (Kickin’ Wiccan Music, 2024)
Ginetta M., a multi-talented musician, composer, and bandleader, shines on Fun Size, her sixth album with the fabulousd ensemble Ginetta’s Vendetta. On Fun Size, she collaborates with a standout lineup of New York City’s finest musicians, including Jon Davis (piano), Danny Walsh (tenor and soprano saxophones), Marcello Pellitteri (drums), and Belden Bullock (bass). Ginetta herself contributes pocket trumpet and vocals, while arranging all tracks and composing two original pieces. As a result, she creates a swinging vigorous, and engaging album that reflects her innovative approach to contemporary jazz.
Recognized as a UNESCO Jazz Ambassador, she uses her platform to promote jazz through global performances, workshops, and media engagements. Ginetta plays a pocket trumpet, which is a compact brass instrument with the same pitch and range as a standard trumpet but with a coiled design for portability. It produces a similarly rich sound, making it a practical choice for traveling musicians.
