Norwegian-German duo Whispers of Granite release their debut single, “Hiding in Plain Sight,” on May 16. The track is the first preview of their forthcoming album, Liquid Stone, out July 4 via Apollon Records.
The project unites Trude Eidtang (When Mary) and Andreas Hack (Frequency Drift), blending melancholic folk, indie rock, and atmospheric prog. Eidtang’s emotive vocal work and Hack’s cinematic instrumentation form the foundation of this introspective and textured sound.
“Hiding in Plain Sight” reflects on the alienation of rapid urban transformation and digital detachment. The lyrics evoke a city losing its soul, as its inhabitants seek meaning through screens rather than connection—haunted by the past, yet pulled toward a more human future.

The album title, Liquid Stone, captures the duo’s core theme: the tension between change and permanence. Across its tracks, the music weaves organic and industrial textures, exploring the friction between vulnerability and structure, emotion and environment.
