The cover of No Estoy Aquí by Juan Dahmen features a muted, grayscale image of a solitary bird in flight over a reflective, rain-swept surface. Blurred vertical forms in the background evoke an abstract cityscape or forest. The album title appears in soft, handwritten script across the top.

Lying Low: Juan Dahmen Channels Stillness Into Ambient Soundscape

Spanish electronic music artist Juan Dahmen has released No Estoy Aquí, a one-hour ambient composition inspired by a period of physical immobility. The work reflects his personal experience of lying on his back for two months, accompanied by calming music from Christina Ruf, Erik Emil Eskildsen, Markus Reuter, and Steven Leak.

Through headphones and with eyes closed, Dahmen invites listeners into this intimate soundscape—a sonic reflection of his earliest nights when the music existed only in his mind.

Released on May 20, 2025, the piece was composed, recorded, and mixed by Dahmen himself. It was mastered by Erik Emil Eskildsen at Universets Centrum in Denmark. Cover photography is by Steven Leak.
