Slow and Looped features three ambient electronic compositions developed for live looping performance. Ambient music, known for its focus on atmosphere and mood over traditional structure, often employs slowly evolving sounds to evoke a sense of space and calm.
Looping, a method of repeating audio segments, is used here as both a compositional and performative tool. In the ambient context, loops serve to sustain mood while subtle variations maintain listener interest. Lankow incorporates a range of musical elements, drawing on diverse loops from the Soma Cosmos sound palette.
All tracks were performed live, recorded, and produced by Volker Lankow.
Listeners are encouraged to play the album at a low volume for optimal experience.
