Flying High at the Heart of It (distributed by CDX Records and The Orchard) is the latest album by Portuguese jazz guitarist and composer Sandro Norton. The project features legendary vibraphonist Gary Burton in one of his final recorded appearances before retirement., the album is now available worldwide.
The album combines improvisation, orchestral arrangements, and narrative composition. Norton presents a cohesive work influenced by the spirit of jazz fusion. The album draws influence from the genre’s golden age while expanding its modern vocabulary through complex rhythms, melodic depth, and cinematic arrangements.
The ensemble includes a group of internationally recognized musicians. Tracks range from lyrical ballads to polyrhythmic explorations, with arrangements also adapted for live performance in concert halls and international tours.

Sandro Norton is known for his melodic playing and genre-crossing collaborations, including work with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) and other leading artists.
