The cover of Formless by Volker Lankow features a blurred surface in muted gray tones, creating a grainy effect. At the bottom, a taupe strip carries the artist’s name and album title in simple white lowercase text.

One Track, No Breaks: Volker Lankow Releases “Formless”

German electronic music artist Volker Lankow has released Formless, a stand-alone album outside his Ambient Journal series.

The project presents a single, long piece that moves through experimental sounds with shifting layers and stretches of noise, resonance, and silence. It develops without track divisions to encourage uninterrupted, deep listening.

Lankow composed, performed, and produced the album in Berlin. He advises low-volume playback. The cover image is also by Lankow.
