Deko Entertainment will reissue Armageddon to celebrate the album’s 50th anniversary, with a newly remastered edition pressed on 180-gram “Atomic Red” vinyl. The release comes in a gatefold package and includes additional photos and updated credits.
Armageddon was a hard rock band formed in 1974. The band’s self-titled debut, Armageddon, was recorded in England and released in 1975 in the United States via A&M Records. Original liner notes described the group as a “supergroup,” featuring drummer Bobby Caldwell (Captain Beyond), singer Keith Relf (the Yardbirds; co-founder of Renaissance), guitarist Martin Pugh (Steamhammer), and bassist Louis Cennamo (Renaissance; Steamhammer).
The reissue is limited to 500 copies. Deko will also offer a limited signed bundle (100 copies) that includes a 10×10 print signed by the three surviving members: Caldwell, Cennamo, and Pugh.
Caldwell said he is “delighted to see the album being re-issued by Deko Entertainment,” calling the original sessions a “great pleasure” alongside Relf, Pugh, and Cennamo. Pugh said the label’s anniversary edition is a “timely release,” recalling the band’s move from London to Hollywood and the moment the project came together after meeting and jamming with Caldwell. Cennamo described Armageddon as “our supergroup that nearly was and now just might always be!”
Deko Entertainment has recently issued vinyl releases from other artists such as Trapeze, Angel, Dokken, Warrant, Slaughter, and Stevie Salas, among others.
