Pianist-composer Yelena Eckemoff has released “Gamla Stan,” the latest video single preview from her upcoming album Rosendals Garden. The album is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, via her L&H Production.
Rosendals Garden is Eckemoff’s 23rd album since 2010. She recorded the eleven-track set on August 28–29, 2024 at RMV Studio in Stockholm, a facility owned by ABBA’s Benny Andersson.
The project draws inspiration from Eckemoff’s travels in Sweden and focuses on themes of landscape, history, and place. She wrote all compositions and arrangements, and performs piano and keyboards. The recording features Svante Henryson on cello plus electric and acoustic bass, and Morgan Ågren on drums and percussion.
The “Gamla Stan” video presents the trio performing the piece live in the studio. Eckemoff described Stockholm’s Old Town as “a special place where the spirit of the ancient times is still alive,” even amid crowds and gift shops, and said her time there felt “surreal” as old and current eras seemed to “live happily side by side.”
Additional preview singles will arrive ahead of the album’s March 27 release, which will be available digitally and on digipak CD.
Engineer Linn Fijal handled tracking, and Stefano Amerio mastered the album. Eckemoff also painted the cover art.
