French electronic music artist Malibu has released a video titled “Camargue.” Filmed at the Seven Sisters cliffs in England, Malibu provides some details, “the idea was to imitate the landscape and its life—from the muddy, wet sand, to the creamy cliffs and the sea’s foam, to the bright white feathers of the seagulls—be one with the environment, be its echo.”
“Camargue” is extracted from Malibu’s debut EP, One Life, released last year on UNO NYC.
One Life is inspired by scenes from Malibu’s favorite films and features cellist Oliver Coates and guitarist Florian Le Prisé.
Malibu is 24-year-old Barbara. Born and raised in Pau, France, Malibu spent her formative years studying music theory and piano at the conservatory, while also learning from her father who is a jazz pianist and oceanologist.
Following a brief period living in Angola, Malibu returned to France for boarding school as a teen where she fell in love with 1990s synthesizers and electronic dance music, eventually teaching herself to compose music with a midi keyboard and gear loaned from her dad. She loves melody and reverb.
