“Il vero è nella memoria e nella fantasia” (The truth is in memory and fantasy) is the second solo album from Italian progressive rock artist Marco Masoni. He is a leading musician and composer in the Italian neo-prog scene, known for his collaborations and his experience with Germinale between the 1990s and the beginning of the new millennium. Masoi released his first solo album “Il Multiforme” (The Multiform) seven years ago.
Marco Masoni wrote ther majority of the lyrics and composed most of the music except for “Madre Pennuta” by Battisti / Panella; the final part of “Scrutatio” containing an excerpt from Mozart’s KV167 “Missa Sanctissima Trinitate”; the lyrics of “Multiforme” by Umberto Eco; and “Alberi” by Carlo Striano.
“Il vero è nella memoria e nella fantasia” is available from AMS and features a mix of progressive folk sounds. The concept revolves around contradictions currenly and the unraveled future that our children will inherit. Masoni invited numerous guests, including Maurizio Di Tollo (Hostsonaten, La Maschera di Cera) on drums and Gabriele Guidi (from the Tuscan prog-metallers Athena) on synthesizers.
