David Cross and Andrew Keeling – October is Marigold (Noisy Records, 2021)
“October is Marigold” is the second collaboration from virtuoso violinist and composer David Cross and multi-instrumentalist and composer Andrew Keeling. The colorful album was released by Noisy Records, a label that specializes in electric chamber music. Indeed, the duo performs a wonderful collection of instrumentals highlighting the interaction between the electric violin and the flute.
Musically, the pieces include a mix of classical chamber music, jazz improvisation, and sounds of nature with elements of progressive music in the form of the electric violin that will recall progressive rock and jazz fusion.
