Electronic music artist, Robert Rich, has announced the release of his highly anticipated new album, titled “Travelers’ Cloth.” The album was created as an ode to the profound writings of T’ang dynasty Chinese poet Tu Fu, whose works offered deep insights into Taoist philosophy amidst a tumultuous era of rebellion and chaos. Tu Fu, who lived a life of poverty and ill health, was forced to wander incessantly and was unable to return to his ancestral home. Rich’s latest project delves into the concept of “Home” and contemplates the question of what this fundamental notion truly means.
The album’s title, “Travelers’ Cloth,“ derives from the idea of the “fabric of vibrating creation” that envelops us and sustains life. Rich draws on this metaphor to explore the fragility of comfort and stability, which are often taken for granted. Through his music, he delves into the complexities of the human experience and encourages listeners to contemplate the true nature of home, and what it means to be rooted in a place.
