The double album Impressions In Colours by composer and multi-instrumentalist Izabella Effenberg presents an innovative and exquisite mix of vibraphone and harp interwoven with rare instruments like the glass harp, sundrum, array mbira, marimba, steel drum, crotales, and waterphone, seldom found in jazz and improvised music. This masterful fusion creates unprecedented, mesmerizing soundscapes, offering listeners a novel auditory experience, creating a sense of engaging musical exploration and discovery.
Effenberg crafts one-of-a-kind performances and recordings, captivating audiences with her electrifying and captivating allure. Her compositions, finely attuned to her instrumental skill, guide listeners through enchanting musical voyages.
Her accolades include winning the Next Generation Virtual competition at the Women In Jazz / Halle Festival in 2020, receiving the Cultural Award of the City of Nuremberg in 2018, and the Promotion Award of the District of Middle Franconia in 2020.
Recognized as a Yamaha artist since 2021 and honored as an artist of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region in July 2022, Effenberg effortlessly traverses jazz, classical, and world music genres. Since 2014, she has curated the “Vibraphonissimo” festival in the Nuremberg metropolitan area and co-founded the international jazz musicians’ network “Sisters in Jazz” with Nicole Johänntgen.
Effenberg collaborates with a diverse range of artists including Lars Danielsson, Magnus Öström, and Nils Landgren, among others.
