Berlin-based electronic artist Andreas von Garnier, known as Synthasis and a member of the group TaboTago, has deep roots in the experimental electronic scene of the 1970s. Originally from East Berlin, Garnier is a leading artist in the German scene. His work draws heavily from the progressive electronic music of th3 1970s. His expertise in sound synthesis led him to create his own electronic instruments in the 1980s.
One of his standout works, Im Zeichen (“Under the Sign”), was recorded live on June 21, 2007, during a performance at a village church in Berlin-Rahnsdorf. The album, featuring guitarist Leander Reininghaus, carries clear influences from early Tangerine Dream, marking a strong nod to the era’s iconic sound.
