Inside The Laconic’s New Album Carbon

Electronic music producer The Laconic has released a new album, Carbon, created in collaboration with Kid Arrow. The record is described by its creator as the first “proper” Laconic album and the second project with Kid Arrow.

The concept for Carbon draws heavily from Neal Stephenson’s novel The Diamond Age. What began as an unofficial soundtrack evolved into a study of emergence, constraint, and autonomy, reflecting how systems can learn, adapt, and become self-directed.

The album features contributions from Diego Alvarez, Luca Calabrese, Juan Dahmen, Tim Gardner, and Christina Ruf, with mixing and mastering by Erik Emil Eskildsen.
