Steve Roach & Serena Gabriel — Entering Elysium (Projekt, 2026)
On Entering Elysium, Steve Roach and Serena Gabriel create a deeply intimate refuge, one grounded in patience, breath, and quiet illumination. Roach’s deeply charming synthesizer atmospheres meet Gabriel’s flute, lyre, harmonium, and poised vocals with remarkable sensitivity.
The music invites calm and inward attention. Electronic atmospheres and acoustic detail coexist with unusual grace, and that balance gives the record its welcoming spiritual feel. Nothing feels overstated. Each phrase seems placed in service of reflection, as if the album is clearing space for the listener to become more present.
Entering Elysium aims to evoke a liminal, contemplative space characterized by tranquility and reflection. This is an album of subtle radiance, offering sanctuary through concentration, beautiful sound, and quiet trust. In turn, the music focuses on detail, space, and slow development.
