Electronic music composer Bernhard Wöstheinrich has released Qualia 007, a long-form experimental work that combines ambient electronic music, drone, and real-time improvisation.
The latest installment in the Qualia series departs from conventional composition techniques in favor of spontaneous audio transformations and unpredictable musical developments. Although rooted in ambient and drone traditions, the piece follows an evolving narrative structure.
Wöstheinrich developed the recording through multiple layers of complex audio processing, which alter and reconstruct the original source material. These techniques introduce unexpected variations and chance elements into the composition. Additionally, he manipulated the audio effects in real time during the recording sessions, which added an improvisational dimension to the production.
Wöstheinrich composed, engineered, and produced Qualia 007, while Markus Reuter handled mastering.
