Esoteric Recordings has announced the release of a Deluxe 3 Disc CD & DVD set by Moody Blues founder and keyboardist Mike Pinder titled Promise / Among the Stars. Well-known for his pioneering use of the Mellotron on the “Classic Seven” albums by the Moody Blues, Pinder recorded a solo album titled “The Promise” (1976), before leaving the Moody Blues during sessions for the “Octave” album. Pinder later moved to California, where he recorded a follow up solo album called “Among the Stars,” released in 1994 as a private mail order release.
The new Esoteric Recordings deluxe boxed set includes remastered versions of “The Promise” and “Among the Stars,” together with three new bonus tracks, ‘If She Came Back’ by Mike Pinder and ‘Waves Crash’ and ‘Empty Streets’ by the Pinder Brothers (featuring Ray Thomas on flute), produced by Moody Blues producer, the late Tony Clarke.
The set also features a DVD (over an hour in duration) with extensive interviews with Mike Pinder on his time with the Moody Blues, his personal viewpoints and exclusive solo performances of his music.
The DVD featured in this set is in NTSC and REGION FREE format and playable in any country.
