The rising star of rock progresivo italiano, Ubi Maior, is releasing its first album if 5 years. “Incanti bio meccaninci” (Btf – AMS AMSCD249) is the bands third album. The band has a new guitarist named Marcella Arganese who has shifted the band’s sound from hard progressive rock to a more attractive Italian-style symphonic progressive rock.
Incanti bio meccanici includes two long suites titled “Teodora” and “Lo specchio di Mogano” (“The Mahogany Mirror”) . Keyboard player Gabriele Manzini (Ubi Maior’s main composer) provides a fabulous set of classic instruments: Hammond organ, minimoog, piano, and mellotron.
Vocalist Mario Moi also plays violin and trumpet, adding his own lyrics based on books about imaginary cities.
