Musical Alchemist John Zorn to Perform his Most Lyrical Material in London this Summer

American radical composer and saxophonist John Zorn is turning 60 this year and he will music to London on Friday, July 12th, 2013 at 19:30 at Barbican Hall.

Zorn is a pioneer in combining jazz, rock, experimental, folk, and classical traditions, Zorn has decided to hold no ordinary birthday party either.

For this concert, Zorn will bring together an all-star ensemble of longtime associates and friends including vocalists Mike Patton, Jesse Harris and Sofia Rei, guitarist Marc Ribot, Trevor Dunn on bass, and more.

The program features some of his most lyrical and enduring compositions of the past 30 years, composed for films and for some of his most popular bands: From Naked City, Masada and The Dreamers to Moonchild, Nova Express and more – alongside other visionary projects like Zorn’s modern strings masterpiece, The Alchemist.
