The Plight of Lady Oona (Anton Roolaart, 2014)
The Plight of Lady Oona brings together melodic rock with symphonic progressive rock. Most of the songs have a similar feel, with vocals that are nearly spoken rather than sung. The best moments on The Plight of Lady Oona are the keyboard atmospheres and solos as well as some of the guitar work.
The album lineup includes Anton Roolaart on vocals, guitars, mandolin, keyboards, piano, bass, percussion, additional drum programming, arrangements; Vinnie Puryear on bass; Rave Tesar on keyboards; Kendall Scott on piano and keyboards; Pieter van Hoorn on drums; Michael Frasche on drums; and Renaissance’s Annie Haslam as special guest vocalist on one track.
